Standard v1.0 · August 2026

The Guild
Standard.

Meet the Standard.
Prove the Capability.
Measure the Performance.

A foundational operating standard for member qualification, ongoing verification, performance measurement, and Guild status.

Purpose & Philosophy

Qualification comes
before ranking.

The Collision Guild identifies, develops, verifies, and distinguishes collision repairers that consistently perform safe, efficient, least-invasive repairs while maintaining the people, equipment, processes, and evidence necessary to support those outcomes.

Membership asks: Are you qualified to be in the Guild?
Performance asks: How well are you performing among qualified Guild facilities?

The Guild Framework

Four gates.
Three measures.

Membership Status

Status must reflect
verified reality.

Provisional Guild Member

Accepted while completing an approved, time-bound Compliance Action Plan.

Verified Guild Member

Fully compliant with all mandatory standards and eligible for a Guild Performance Score.

Performance Probation

Standards remain satisfied, but measured performance requires a corrective performance plan.

Standards Suspension

A mandatory standard is no longer satisfied; Guild representation may be restricted.

Removed

Mandatory deficiencies or integrity violations have not been corrected.

Part I · Membership Standards

Non-negotiable
membership gates.

A high performance score cannot offset failure of a mandatory standard. Safety, technical capability, equipment capability, and data integrity are gates—not points.

01

Standard 01

Repair Quality & Safety

Every Guild facility must demonstrate processes, controls, and repair evidence consistent with safe, complete, OEM-informed repairs.

01.1

OEM repair information

Applicable repair files demonstrate access to and use of relevant OEM procedures, restrictions, and supporting repair information.

01.2

Pre- and post-repair scanning

Scanning is performed and retained when required by OEM procedure, repair circumstances, insurer requirements, or Guild criteria.

01.3

Structural measurement

Dimensional verification is documented whenever damage or repair operations require structural measurement.

01.4

Repair planning / blueprint

A documented plan identifies repair method, OEM requirements, structural needs, ADAS, parts, and production handoff.

01.5

ADAS identification and calibration

Affected systems are identified and required calibration procedures are determined, performed, and documented.

01.6

Joining process control

Welding, brazing, riveting, bonding, test-weld, and corrosion-restoration processes follow documented requirements.

01.7

Corrosion protection

Disturbed corrosion protection, seam sealing, primers, coatings, and cavity protection are restored as applicable.

01.8

Final quality control

Every completed vehicle receives documented final verification appropriate to the repair scope.

02

Standard 02

People & Technical Capability

The people performing, planning, or controlling repairs must possess current, role-specific training, knowledge, and demonstrated skill.

02.1

Structural repair

Designated structural technicians demonstrate competency in analysis, measuring, repair methods, joining, corrosion restoration, and documentation.

02.2

Advanced non-structural repair

Technicians complete Guild-approved advanced skill development that materially exceeds baseline industry training.

02.3

Repair planning / production

Repair planners complete advanced Repair by Design training and evaluate repairability before replacement is selected.

02.4

Refinish

Personnel maintain training applicable to the refinishing system and processes used at the facility.

02.5

ADAS / diagnostics

Designated personnel demonstrate competency in identification, scanning, calibration requirements, equipment use, and verification.

02.6

Standard automotive glass

Facilities maintain trained personnel for collision-related glass R&I, replacement, and repair.

03

Standard 03

Equipment & In-House Capability

Guild facilities must maintain, verify, and use the equipment and internal capabilities necessary for the repairs they represent themselves as qualified to perform.

03.1

Structural measuring

Electronic or 3D measuring capability, current data, maintained equipment, trained users, and permanent reports.

03.2

Structural joining

Appropriate spot welding, MIG/MAG/brazing, rivet/bonding, aluminum, and OEM-specific capability.

03.3

Aluminum capability

Controlled work area, contamination controls, aluminum-specific tools, extraction, and joining equipment.

03.4

ADAS calibration

Meaningful internal diagnostic and calibration capability with appropriate software, targets, environmental controls, and documentation.

03.5

Diagnostics and mechanical

Required scan, DTC, OEM-capable access, programming support, and baseline collision-related mechanical capability.

03.6

Glass operations

Tools, materials, equipment, and trained personnel for in-house glass R&I, replacement, and repair.

03.7

Refinish equipment

Professional spray, prep, mixing, lighting, air, PPE, and product-control equipment.

03.8

Equipment maintenance

Controlled records identify equipment, location, verification, maintenance, calibration, and status.

04

Standard 04

Data Integrity & Transparency

Guild verification depends on complete, accurate, timely, and auditable information. Honesty and access to verification data are mandatory conditions of membership.

04.1

Required data access

Members authorize access to data reasonably required to administer Guild standards and performance measurement.

04.2

Complete repair record

The file tells the full story of the repair through plans, procedures, measurements, scans, calibrations, evidence, work order, and QC.

04.3

Truthfulness and integrity

No falsification, manipulation, misrepresentation, or deliberate gaming of Guild audits or performance systems.

04.4

Audit cooperation

Facilities cooperate with virtual, data-driven, and physical audits and provide records, personnel, and equipment for verification.

Part II · Performance System

Performance
by evidence.

Only facilities satisfying all mandatory membership standards receive a Guild Performance Score. Initial weights and thresholds remain pilot hypotheses until validated against founding-shop data.

40%

Repair Efficiency

Correct repairs with the least avoidable friction, delay, interruption, and rework.

40%

Repair by Design

How consistently appropriate repair opportunities are identified, documented, and completed.

20%

Documentation & Compliance

How consistently complete, auditable repair evidence is produced on the first pass.

Guiding Principles

01

Repair by Design

Evaluate repairability intentionally rather than replacing by default.

02

Capability by Verification

Prove the right people, skills, equipment, and processes are present at the location performing the repair.

03

Performance by Evidence

Measure actual operating results, make them transparent, and use the evidence to improve.
